About Us
The Australian Cattle Dog and the Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog are two breeds of cattle dog. They were breed in the early 1800’s for herding cattle and other live stock.
Unlike ACDS Stumpy Tail Cattle Dogs are born without a tail. ACDS are also called Red Heeler and Blue Heeler. Born white their coat color will start to change after a few days. These dogs can be very aggressive that’s how they should be when it comes to work. Biting is part of their job. ACDS should be taught as puppies when it’s ok to bit and when it’s not.
These are hard working dogs, which require plenty of room and exercise. They are very smart, loyal and protective, ACDS need trained properly to be an all round dog. Read more about training and a few problem solving techniques here.
